Durga is a human rights defender (HRD) associated with ActionAid India. For more than two decades, she has worked on issues related to the rights of the Musahar people and other marginalised communities, women, and informal workers, including enabling access to identity documents and government schemes and entitlements. Durga was previously also associated with the Vigyan Foundation and holds a master's degree in sociology from the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in Delhi.
