Help IDR make stories accessible to more people

At IDR, we believe that language should never be a barrier to knowledge, insight or change. That’s why, this year we’ve launched the ‘Translations Fund’ to bring our stories to life in Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati and Telugu.

By donating, you’re not just supporting a project. You’re standing for something bigger: access, inclusion and the right to be seen and heard in your own language.

You’ll be helping translators, editors and creators who carry deep knowledge of the places they write about. People who bring sensitivity, care and cultural context to every story. Not bots. Not AI. Not plug-ins.

We’re aiming to raise ₹25 lakhs to make this possible.

If you believe in the power of stories to connect and transform, contribute to the Translations Fund below.

    of Goal

When you support IDR, you also help us remain editorially and financially independent, and importantly, sustainable. But being part of our community is not just a monetary exercise; it signals your commitment to independent media, information you can trust, and creating social impact.

Members of our community have given us pro bono support, spread the word about us within their circles, and also fundraised on behalf of IDR. If you have other ideas about how you can help us do what we do, better, please reach out to us. We’d love to hear them.

If you are having any trouble completing your donation, or if you would like to speak with us about a larger investment or long-term support, please reach out to us at donate@staging.idronline.org and our team will guide you through the process.

    Why people support IDR

“I give to IDR for purely selfish reasons: I’ve learned so much from reading different perspectives and insights. I feel like I have access to people, places and points of view that I might otherwise never have had access to. And I love that IDR makes me laugh each week! Thank you, Team IDR, for all you do.”

    Priyanka Dutt, Social sector professional

“IDR is one of those rare and precious media platforms, which not only covers important social issues but covers them with great nuance. I support IDR because it provides a stage for voices from the ground, who are otherwise ignored, to share their lived experiences and stories. IDR’s engaging formats – long-form articles, podcasts, photo essays to humour series – make it an unparalleled and unrivalled platform today. I hope more readers come to the platform, subscribe and support it, because of its worth.”

    Sahana Jose, Development Communications Professional
