Advocacy & Government: The government of Uttar Pradesh will issue a Unicode to mark all agricultural, residential, and commercial land parcels in the state. Each piece of land will now have a unique code, enabling people to find details about land parcels online.
The Unicode will have 16 digits, with the first six digits based on the population of the land, and the next four digits determining the unique identity of the land. Digits 11 to 14 will be the number of the division of the land. The last two digits will have the details of the category, through which, the agricultural, residential, and commercial land will be identified.
An official spokesperson of the government said that the Unicode will put an end to fake registries of disputed land. According to him, assessment of plots has already started in all revenue villages, and the work of marking disputed plots in the computerised management system is now being done by the revenue courts.
